Jo has 22 Years of Real Estate Experience in the Carolina’s with Emphasis on Equestrian, & Lake Norman Non-Equestrian Properties in The Greater Charlotte Area was born in upstate New York where the ‘hearty’ battle the 6 foot snow drifts for the majority of the year. Close to the scenic Adirondack Mountains and dozens of beautiful natural lakes, I was young and naive enough to think this was heaven. And maybe it is, for polar bears!
I was lucky enough to live next door to my grandparents. I grew up with horses, pastures, frogs and nature walks as my daily pastimes. As an only child I was protector to any type of winged or furry creature. In Middle school, I took riding lessons on Morgan horses and developed a forever love of these magnificent creatures. In college once again, I was fortunate enough to have a semester of English riding, which was my all-time favorite course.
My background prior to real estate was business college, medical office management, adjunct instructing at local community college, and partner with my then husband in a high-end custom home-building business. We raised two beautiful daughters, both professionals and I claim 8 grandchildren as my legacy. From an early age, I loved all creatures with fur, hair or feathers, and grew up with horses, dogs, cats, and anything abandoned or in need as my friends. Combining my former life near lakes, with my love of animals provides me with a unique niche in real estate.
I am a notorious “out of the box thinker” and am told that I am a people person. I call myself a survivor of many things including interesting real estate markets, with my focus always on the good, rather than the negative in life and people. Thus, real estate is natural for me as I enjoy matching people with homes, farms with animal lovers, and helping buyers and sellers move from one happy place to another.
To state it simply, I love what I do.
My background consists of listing and selling all price ranges of real estate, and new construction homes in Central New York from 1987 through 1995 at which time I moved to the Charlotte area. I had no connections here whatsoever, and ended up as the Real Estate Sales Director for a Country Club in Davidson NC for over 10 years.
Julie Breedlove of BreedloveFarmsEstatesandLand.com (our website) and I met through a referral when I was seeking a horse training facility for a new buyer. My peers in real estate told me she was the go-to Realtor® for anything equestrian or farm related. End of Story! We bonded, and have had a wonderful, successful and phenomenal relationship since 2008. Her husband, Lloyd, our assistant Joannie, and our newest addition Sheena complete the team. We represent properties in all price ranges and cover a broad area in the Carolina Piedmont, focused on the Greater Charlotte Metro Region and the Triad. Out market includes approximately 25 North Carolina counties and 8 South Carolina counties just south of Charlotte, NC.
I love what I do. I have survived many things, and believe I will be showing and selling farms until I meet my creator. I simply love animals, and most people who love animals.
In my spare time, I ride my quarter horse Dolly, I foster at-risk dogs and cats when necessary, and feed at least 25-30 spayed and neutered cats daily at various feral colonies. I have as my soulmates, a blind and deaf Pomeranian named Neal, a sassy Yorkie named Toby, a darling long-haired Chihuahua named Taco, a lovely sweet ShihTzu named Winky, and my newest addition, a 3 lb. Deer Head Chihuahua named Bugs. All but Winky are rescues.
My life is full and happy. I believe in giving back and trying to make people’s and animal’s lives better. If you have need for a seasoned professional whose past clients are the best advertising, please email, text or call me today.
